Texan's Artillery of General Patrick Cleburne at Kennesaw Mountain

This artillery redoubt protected parts of Major General Patrick Cleburne's Confederate lines at Kennesaw Mountain. The Confederate trenches and redoubts created a zig-zagging line to the left and the right that allowed them to fire directly into the attacking Union soldiers and a crossfire from the artillery that was even more deadly than the straight on fire. At this site the Texans that built it skirmished with Union soldiers for a week before the full assault occurred. The Confederates has to bow their heads to keep from being shot, but when the full Union attack came they were ready and the Union soldiers paid the price.
