Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Two Sets of Subtotals / Subtotals Above the Data Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel podcast, sponsored by MrExcel.com. In today's episode, we will be discussing how to create dual subtotals at the top of your Excel data. This question was sent in by Amelie from Belgium, who is trying to add subtotals for both region and product, but with a twist - she wants them to appear at the top of the data. To start, we would normally use the "Subtotal" function under the "Data" tab and select "At each change in region" and "At each change in product". However, in this case, we need to uncheck the option for "Summary below data" and instead, the summary will appear above the data. This will give us the subtotals for each region at the top, followed by the subtotals for each product. But, if you're looking to have the product subtotals at the bottom and the region subtotal at the top, unfortunately, there is no easy solution for that. However, if you have any suggestions or solutions, please email them to me at [email protected] and we may feature them in a future podcast. If the issue is with the grand total appearing at the bottom, you can simply delete that row. But, if you want all the subtotals to appear at the top, then the method we just discussed will work perfectly. I hope this helps you, Amelie, and anyone else looking to create dual subtotals at the top of their Excel data. Thank you for tuning in to this episode of the MrExcel podcast.
