Native Place, Kamshet

Tucked away in a remote valley of the Sahyadari, Native Place was located a few hours from Mumbai. It was a huge bungalow with small, cozy rooms and colorful décor like yellow walls and blue tables. The rooms had pretty curtains and wooden drawers much like the ones in our grandparent’s abodes. There was no need for air conditioner here, even in the summer, as this place was always cool thanks to the abundance of trees. Native Place was extremely hospitable with warm hearted and caring people who made us feel welcomed since the moment we arrived. The food here was the highlight. Ditch the fancy restaurants for some lovely, home cooked meals. The food here was prepared with love and did not leave a chance to make us feel home sick. The people here were so kind that they did not mind cooking up snacks for us outside of the meal timings. From hammocks to relax on, to fireflies to gaze at in the dark, Native Place had a ton of interesting hang outs. There were even trees to climb onto and a private lake for guests to chill at. This place is also great for organizing events for all ages such as corporate retreats and school programs. Native Place had a nostalgic vibe that took us back to our best childhood memories. Overall, this place lived upto its name and left no leaf unturned in making us feel at home, away from home.
