The Bushes - Made in China - Art + Music - MOCAtv

Ry Rocklen and Nick Lowe are "rap partners" in The Bushes, an ongoing musical collaboration based in Los Angeles. The song "Made in China" centers on a simple premise that belies a poetic density: products are made in China, then exported to the United States to be bought and sold. Previously existing as a live performance, it marks the duo's first music video: an experimental mixture of live action sequences and animation, with an abundance of imagery in their preferred "key of green." The Bushes have performed in art spaces, underground venues, and museums since 2001, including LACMA and REDCAT in Los Angeles, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
