Powerful Intercession! — Our Lady of Prompt Succor Hello everyone, and welcome to America Needs Fatima’s 3-minute Meditation, a special short-video segment where you and I will take about three minutes out of our day to meditate on a special piece of Catholic wisdom. Today’s meditation will be on the Prayer to Our Lady of Prompt Succor. This prayer is taken from a novena to Our Lady of Prompt Succor, whose feast day is celebrated on January 8. “Prompt succor” is another way of saying “quick help,” so let’s offer this prayer to Our Lady, who wishes to help us in our needs. “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, thou art after Jesus our only hope. O Mother of God, thou art our Mediatrix most kind and loving. Hasten, then, to our help, and as thou didst once save thy beloved City from ravaging flames and our Country from an alien foe, do now have pity on our misery, and obtain for us the graces we beg of thee. Deliver us from the wiles of Satan, assist us in the many trials which beset our path in this valley of tears, and be to us truly Our Lady of Prompt Succor now and especially at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.” Our Lady of Prompt Succor once interceded miraculously for the Ursuline sisters in France and New Orleans, from saving their convent from fire to gaining for them victory during war. If she will intercede in these grand ways for those who pray fervently to her, she will intercede for you too, in all your troubles and necessities. At Fatima, Our Lady told Lucia, “Do not be dismayed. I will never forsake you.” These words bring us hope. Thanks again for joining me in praying a Prayer to Our Lady of Prompt Succor.
