Stomping for Snow Sculptures: How Snow Blocks are Made

World champion snow sculptures start with snow blocks. But how are the blocks made? Like vineyard grape-stompers, volunteers stomp down snow which naturally settles and hardens into the blocks competitors use. The International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge, Colorado take place each January in downtown Breckenridge.
