Thousands Participate In Anti-tourism Protests Across Spain

Thousands of people gathered in central Barcelona to protest the effects of mass tourism on local communities. The demonstration was organised by the Assemblea de Barris pel Decreixement Turístic (Neighbourhood Assembly for Tourism Reduction) and included symbolic acts of resistance such as spraying water pistols, releasing coloured smoke, taping off hotel entrances.
