Midland Minute - October 2016 | City Council Election Changes

This Midland Minute highlights the changes in City Council Elections. As voted on by City Council on October 10th, 2016, the City of Midland will now host City Council elections on even number years instead of odd number years in order to coincide with Gubernatorial and Presidential elections. As a result the current City Council will be in office until 2018 instead of 2017 as per protocol directed by the State of Michigan. The change is expected to vastly increase voter turnout.
