It's okay to grieve the parts of you that never felt seen, loved, or safe. Snippet from our session on managing an emotional flashback: When emotional flashbacks arise, they often bring with them a wave of unprocessed grief—feelings of abandonment, loneliness, or heartbreak from a time when you didn’t have the tools or support to heal. Allowing yourself to grieve these hidden parts is an act of self-compassion, a way to say, "I see you, I honor you, and I am here to care for you now." 💔 Let yourself feel it. This grief doesn’t make you weak; it makes you human. It’s a gentle process of releasing, of giving those wounded parts a chance to finally be heard. 💡Exercise: If you feel safe to do so, take a moment to close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and breathe deeply. Imagine that young part of you—maybe a child who felt scared, lonely, or unloved. Speak to them softly, with compassion. You might say: "I see your pain, and I’m here to hold it with you. You’re safe now. I’ll never leave you." Let any emotions that come up flow freely, without judgment. Tears, sadness, even anger—let them be a release, a way to honor your past and give yourself the compassion you always deserved. Grieving is not a sign of weakness; it’s a step toward wholeness. 👆🏽 Subscribe for more healing and growth tips #reparentyourself #parentification #parentified #selfesteem #perfectionism #mentalhealth #safespaces #codependency #peoplepleasing #boundaries #peopleaser #cptsd #trauma #traumahealing #complextrauma #overcometrauma #anxiety #breakthecycle #healingjourney #SelfWorthHub #vulnerability #ironovaries #dysfunctionalfamilies #womenstherapist #womenscoach #healingcommunity #innerchildhealing #motherwound #fatherwound #familytrauma
