DOJ IG Horowitz Report on Family/Child Separation: Trump/Rosenstein/Session, "Take The Children"

Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz is about to issue his report of the Trump administrations Immigrant Family/Child Separation policy. The New York Times obtained a draft to the report and its contents are damning of Trump, former Attorney General Jeff Session and former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The reporting makes clear that Trump and Sessions wanted children taken away with no concern of safety or well-bing of the children. Moreover, Rosenstein indicated that is didn't matter if the children were infants, they needed to be separated from their parents and the parents prosecuted. In a staggering show of callousness, Rosenstein said that, regarding the care and custody of the children taken from their parents, DOJ had "no equity" in that arena. It goes without saying that a criminal investigation must commence in January to determine if government officials violated US law by their actions. However, the Biden administrations must also consider creating a Commission to Reunite Immigrant Families that the Trump administrations tore asunder.
