Our hot water line froze during our day away with no use. Weather is negative 20 Celsius. We come home and open taps, cold water runs so I know that our heat tracing to our water tank is ok. When turning tap to hot nothing comes out. My outside wall is brick. So I am thinking we have to remove drywall in front of water lines or try this. Drill a 1.25"(inch) hole in drywall near pipe, open hot water faucet. Now take a hair dryer and place it over hole, a little bit at a time warming in behind your wall and the pipes. It worked!!!
