Want to play AAA-quality PC games on the AYN Thor with way less tinkering? In this video, I walk through my current method for getting PC games running in GameNative or GameHub, then tuning the AYN Thor for smoother gameplay, better temps, and fewer stutters. The big idea: boot first, tune second. Instead of randomly changing every setting, I start with known configurations, try a second launch if the first one crashes, then use the AYN Performance Toggle and ClusterTune to balance CPU and GPU behavior based on the game. For many modern GPU-heavy games, especially Unreal Engine titles, my current baseline is: AYN Performance Toggle: Medium / Performance ClusterTune: Medium Underclock That may sound backwards at first, but the goal is not just peak FPS. The goal is stable temps, smoother frame pacing, and fewer ugly 1% lows. This method has helped me get better playable results in games like Invincible VS, Palworld, and other demanding modern PC games on the AYN Thor. If the game fails on first launch, try launching it one more time. If needed, try Proton 10 EC2 ARM or Proton 11 ARM. Try Mr. Purple or Whitebellyash A8XX Turnip drivers. Figure out whether the game is more GPU-heavy or CPU-heavy. For GPU-heavy games, try more GPU room with a CPU underclock. For CPU-heavy games, start with standard CPU behavior and no ClusterTune underclock. The goal is simple: stable temps, smooth gameplay, and less time lost in the settings swamp. Your results will vary by game, driver, app version, and device, but this gives you a much better starting point than changing random settings for hours.
