How to Replace Front Forward, Rearward Control Arms on a 2011–2017 Dodge Charger — DIY Guide

In this video, I show you how to remove and replace the front lower forward, and rearward control arms on a 2017 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T 5.7L V8. This guide also applies to Dodge Charger models from 2011–2017, including R/T, SXT, SE, and other trims with similar suspension setups. I walk through the tools you’ll need, how to safely lift the vehicle, remove the worn control arms, install the new ones, and properly tighten everything. Symptoms of a bad lower control arm include: Clunking or knocking noises when driving over bumps Steering instability or pulling to one side Uneven or accelerated tire wear Excessive vibration in the steering wheel Loose, sloppy, or vague steering Poor handling or wandering at highway speeds If your Charger feels unstable or you’re hearing suspension noises, this tutorial will help you diagnose the issue and replace your lower control arms correctly. Timeline Installation 16.21 Start of reinstalling the rearward control arm/bolts, washer, and nut Must watch Installation of the lower forward control arm/bolt, washer, and nut, Important watch reinstalling the spindle on the lower ball joint, lower Forward control arm to the spindle, outer tie rod end install, top spindle nut replaced and tightened, outer tie rod end, lower forward, ball joint nuts tightened. Reinstalling the carter pin, ABS Sensor reinstalled, ABS, Brake Line Bracket reinstalled, MUST WATCH Important information* Tightening the Rearward Control arm Bolts and nuts. 35.51 Sway bar bushing/bracket and shield reinstalled, Lower Forward Control Arm bolt, nut tightening, must watch Stabilizer links installed, END OF THE REPAIR. PUT YOUR WHEEL AND TIRE BACK ON AND DROP THE VEHICLE FROM THE JACK STANDS.
