2018 03 11 O Savior of the World
The Jubilate Choir sang "O Savior of the World" by John Goss for the Fourth Sunday in Lent, March 11th, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Colorado Springs. The Choir is directed by Dr. Donald Zimmermann and accompanied by Miriam Schinnerer. In 1872 this anthem, along with two others and a Te Deum, was compased by Sir John Goss for a Thanksgiving for the Prince of Wales. The composer had an unusual gift for melody and his voice parts have a solidity and gracefulness of inherent beauty. The chorus should be sung in a prayerful manner expanding only to forte.
