The Mobility Unlimited Challenge sponsored by the Toyota Mobility Foundation was launched in 2017 to foster and support radical improvements in the mobility and independence of people with lower-limb paralysis through smarter assistive technology. The competition focuses on five teams, each selected for their innovative/unique approach to mobility restoration. Team Quix, from the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition, has developed a powered exoskeleton that provides people with lower limb paralysis increased mobility and independence.
