Today’s Bible Story: I can share like Jesus. (Jesus Helps • John 6:1-13) Memory Verse: Matthew 22:39b, " ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself." Key Question: Who can love like Jesus? Bottom Line: I can love like Jesus. Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Bible story Questions Start off with asking questions regarding the lesson for today, encourage the children to share whatever they heard from the Bible Story. This is a good time to make sure the children understand what they’ve heard from the Bible Story today. Questions… 1. Why did so many people follow Jesus? (The people saw the miracles Jesus did to heal the sick). 2. How many people came to the hill top to listen to Jesus? (More than 5000 people). 3. Jesus loved the people. What did he know about the people? (Jesus knew they would be hungry and wanted to help them). 4. What was the lunch the little boy offered to share? (5 loaves of bread and 2 fish). 5. Was this food going to be enough to feed more than 5000 people? (No). 6. What did Jesus do with the food? (Jesus took the boy’s lunch and thanked God for the food. Jesus said everyone could have as much food as they wanted and everyone got enough food. Jesus did a miracle to make more food from only a small portion of food!). 7. What did Jesus ask the disciples to do after everyone had something to eat? (Jesus asked his disciples to collect all the leftovers and put them in baskets). 8. How many baskets of food were leftover? (12 baskets) 9. How can we love like Jesus? (By helping others and sharing with others).
