On March 18, 2014, Lawrence Fong, M.D., an associate professor of medicine in the division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, discussed the importance of immune responses within colorectal cancers and how patients whose immune cells infiltrate their tumors have a better clinical outcome. Dr. Fong also talked about what the immune system could be seeing in colorectal cancer, as well as the developments in immunotherapy for colorectal cancer, namely cetuximab, vaccines, and immune checkpoint inhibitors.
