Details: ... Important Warning! ... This IS NOT a Clean, Clear, Well-played, and/or Professional cover. I am merely learning to play these things and just passed 3 years doing so... I'm far from GOOD at this but I'm also no longer BAD at this either... HOWEVER... That disclaimer up there would tend to imply this attempt is far worse than what it actually is. This actually turned out quite well after all has been considered. I simply like to put it there any time the score comes in anywhere below 97.0% accuracy. The score on this attempt came up to 95.5% Accuracy... Please Continue Reading... I had played this song before and uploaded my previous best score on the song. I uploaded it on July 22nd of 2024. The score on that attempt had come out to 90.1% accuracy. I did not like that score and didn't see it as a very great attempt. It was decent but far from good so I left it "Unlisted" on my YouTube channel. I came back to this last night because I love the song and I wanted to improve it or at least get some practice on it. Because the song is as long as it is, and there's a very long intro section where he's only singing and I'm playing nothing, I skipped that part to get straight to where I was playing. It's here in the song because I patched it in afterwards. I recorded the beginning part and started to play the first time through but f****d it up as I figured that I would. So, I stopped that recording and when I finally got a decent play-through, I cut it at the spot where my Bass began and patched the beginning of the song with no Bass in where it was supposed to be afterwards. I figured it would end up going down that way. Now I didn't patch it perfectly and try to line it up so smoothly that nobody would know. I'm not trying to hide that I did that so it's not a big deal. Many may not even notice there's a little bump in that spot but if you do, this is why. I planned to try this a few times and expected restarts because I knew it wasn't going to be easy for me. I had to listen through the end part, I think, because I needed to get a score at the end. So, I did end up restarting the song a couple times in between the two full times I played through it. The first of the full play-throughs from that cut point where he's only singing, I managed a score of 93.5% accuracy. After that one, I probably restarted a few more times from that same spot at the beginning of where I start playing but the second time all the way through, I further managed to bring the score up to 95.5% Accuracy and that is this video here. Like I said, the patching of the beginning of the song onto this is why you'll notice a sort of skip in the video, it's minor and some may think nothing of it. As I said, I didn't spend a lot of time trying to perfectly integrate them because I'm not trying to hide that I did it because it really has nothing to do with the actual play-through once my Bass part started in. That was on go from start to finish for me. I was just saving myself some time in repeatedly listening to that entire part where I'm doing nothing while he sings. It's easier to be honest and clearly explain what was going on. When I post these, the parts I'm playing through are always from start to finish, I don't play them in sections, cut and make it perfect because I'm simply practicing here. For that reason, I do it the way Rocksmith requires for me to get an accurate score and this is how I saved some time waiting and getting bored wasting time playing. I do love this song which likely won't surprise anybody because it's a pretty iconic song... at least, it is in the United States. Previous Details: This is my first full attempt at this song. The score wasn't good. It wasn't a clean or exemplary attempt. I'm literally only keeping this to study. This song is incredibly difficult so I'm going to need to see that charting quite a few times to keep up with this manner of finger ballet.
