MAY 17TH 2020 DRIVE IN WORSHIP God you call us together here, today.May we love as you love, we pray. We are One in the Spirit We are one in the Spirit, We are one in the Lord (x2) And we pray that all unity May one day be restored And they'll know we are Christians By our love, By our love Yes, they'll know we are Christians By our love We will walk with each other We will walk side by side (x2) And together we'll spread the news That God is in our land All praise to the Father From whom all things come And all praise to Christ Jesus His only son And all praise to the Spirit Who makes us one 1Corinthians 13 (1 Finger) If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. (2 Fingers) And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. (3 Fingers) If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast,* but do not have love, I gain nothing. ((Pastor Katy) Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant 5or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. 7It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (4 Fingers) Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; (5 Fingers)but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. (6 Fingers) When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. (7 Fingers) 12For now we see in a mirror, dimly,* but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. (8 Fingers) And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. Sermon: What is love? There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy 298 There’s a wideness in God’s mercy, like the wideness of the sea There’s a kindness in God’s justice, Which is more than liberty There is no place where earth’s sorrows, are more felt than up in heaven For the love of God is broader, than the measures of the mind. And the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind If our love were but more faithful, We would gladly trust God’s Word; And our lives reflect thanksgiving, For the goodness of our Lord. Prayer: O God, make us patient and pitiful one with another in the fret and jar of life, remembering that each fights a hard fight and walks a lonely way. Forgive us, Lord, if we hurt our fellow souls; teach us a gentler tone, a sweeter charity of words, and a more healing touch. Sustain us, O God, when we must face sorrow; give us courage for the day and hope for the morrow. Day unto day may we lay hold of thy hand and look up into thy face, whatever befall, until our work is finished and the day is done Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom and Power and the Glory Forever. Amen. (Francis of Assisi) . . . . . Thumbnail Credit: https://pixabay.com/illustrations/hea...
