S7 E19: Luton 0 Spurs 1: It's goalmouth Groundhog Day... but still reasons to be cheerful (really!)

Aaaaaaaaaagh! Groundhog Day has struck again with the Town creating a number of chances, failing to take them and falling to defeat. This time Tottenham Hotspur were the beneficiaries at Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon. Kev and James are joined by late call-up, Town fan Reg Harper to dissect the clash with the Londoners from the incredible start the visitors made to how the Hatters got back into the game, all the turning points and where it ultimately went wrong. Listen in for the positives and negatives from the game as well as the views of manager Rob Edwards and striker Elijah Adebayo. The podcast concludes with a look at a potential deal for Andros Townsend and what he could bring should the England international sign a permanent contract ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like this video, please like and subscribe. Current club chief executive Gary Sweet was part of the group that effectively forced the club into administration and out of Mr Gurney's control, for a new consortium to take over, headed up by Bill Tomlins. Another change of ownership again brought problems and administration followed again in 2007, until the club was eventually bought out by the fan-led 2020 consortium, headed up by Sweet, which has now helped steer the history-making Hatters from the non-league to the Premier League. The Supporters' Trust is a democratic, non-profit organisation run by fans for fans. The purpose of a Trust is to help fans to join together and strengthen their influence over the way Luton Town Football Club is run, and to improve the links between their club and the community it serves. In a way, we’re like a union, believing that many voices are stronger than one and that the best way to influence the club is to represent many fans, not just ourselves. We have defended the Club in the tough times and maintain a shareholding in the Club to ensure we are able to protect and celebrate the future. We act as custodian of the image rights of the Club – to protect the Club name, kit colours, Club crest and mascot for the long-term interests of the Club. And like our Club, we have integrity. We believe in fair play and are committed to represent the fans and influence the regulation and its enforcement of football. And to collaborate with other Trusts to share our ideas, learn from best practice and presented a stronger voice to the authorities. Join the Trust for as little as £10 a year (adults) and £5 for children and seniors. We offer exclusive benefits, podcasts and meet the manager and players events and are committed to continually improving the experience of the Hatters’ fans, bringing the team closer to the fans and bringing the supporters’ voice into the boardroom, validating proposed activities and decisions that impact the fans. We encourage the you to get involved, to enjoy the thrill (the ups and the downs!) of supporting Luton Town, and we raise money for both the fans and the community/charity, along with the Club, to help with immediate needs as we have seen during the recent COVID crisis, and to build a better future through significant capital projects.
