Cat Bifenthrin (Pyrethroid) poisoning

After our house was treated for White Tail Spiders, our cat started being too hyperactive with ears twitching. We found out that it was caused by insecticide poisoning. The chemical used was Bifenthrin. It belongs to a group called Pyrethroid. The chemical attacks nervous system. It is highly toxic and carcinogenic and is forbiden in European Union, but not in Australia. I took the cat to a Vet, but there was nothing they could do. The simptoms disappeared after a few days. So, do not panic. However, I am not aware of any long term consequences. A guy who did spraying told us that the cat would not be affected by the spraying. So, people, please avoid this chemical and remove your pets if treating house for insects.
