4ms Spherical Wavetable Navigator- ‘Drone for Xmas’- RtB

The Spherical Wavetable Navigator (hereinafter SWN) has been seen as the last ‘essential’ piece in the modular puzzle for a while- it’s just a bit of a financial hit to discover a good deal on that shortly after the Rene and the Erbe Verb, but hey! with inflation at 10%+ here in badly mismanaged UK plc, buying quality hardware is a sounder investment than leaving the cash in a bank. Anyway, here is the first drone with which I was reasonably satisfied, modulated here by the QPAS (itself flavoured by Ochd), Mimeophon and the FX Aid on ‘cloud reverb’ setting. I was pleased to find that the rising edge of the SWN’s LFOs is sharp enough to trigger the QPAS and clock the delay, but I’m slightly troubled by the fact that the SWN is always on and doing, even when not patched. I wonder if a blind jack in its clock input would stop it; otherwise I’m all out of ideas. And it is a very complex machine- it comes with a forty-plus page paper manual in tiny type which is a pretty steep challenge in itself, and for the life of me I cannot get it to record any of my own wavetable samples. Still, it will occupy me for weeks just working out its finer points, and as I’ve said before (though maybe not here): modular synthesis is not a race, or a time-limited offer, or a competition- it is for the long haul. Like and subscribe, good people, spread the word and make a pork pie for Xmas. I know I will… Thanks for watching!
