"Do we celebrate Jesus at Christmas, or are we simply following the world? The Bible doesn't ask us to celebrate Christmas. Will Christians who celebrate it be rejected by God? Today, Christmas seems more like a noisy party that leads people astray. Should Christians participate or not? The answer might overturn what you think you know. 1. Christmas is a source of much controversy: Which side should Christians take? Let's start with a surprising fact: it's highly unlikely that Jesus was born on December 25th. According to several scholars, based on the Gospel of Luke, the shepherds were tending their flocks in the fields when the angel appeared to them, which corresponds more closely to an autumnal period, or even to the Feast of Tabernacles. Furthermore, December 25th was originally a Roman festival dedicated to the Sun god, before being used to commemorate the birth of Jesus. So a question arises: If this day may not be the true date of Jesus' birth, and the Bible doesn't call for celebrating Christmas, why do Christians celebrate it? 2. Christmas has become excessively commercial: Where is its true meaning? Christmas has long since become a holiday dominated by commerce: promotions, bright decorations, gift exchanges… All of this has little to do with the salvation that the birth of Jesus brings. As Christians, we must ask ourselves: Are we influenced by the commercial packaging? Or do we use Christmas to remember the coming of the Lord? Do we primarily emphasize festive rituals, or do we seize this opportunity to share the Gospel? The heart of Christmas is neither consumption nor entertainment, but gratitude and redemption. 3. So, should Christians celebrate Christmas or not? The answer depends on the attitude of the Heart. Celebrating Christmas or not isn't about the form, but about how you use this day to glorify God. Christmas can be a wonderful opportunity for the Gospel: to invite family and friends to hear the story of Jesus; a time to remember, to meditate on God's love and His plan of salvation; a day of thanksgiving, to act on behalf of those in need, and to share God's love. If you can celebrate Christmas by putting Jesus at the center, then this day takes on real meaning. Should Christians celebrate Christmas? How will you commemorate the birth of Jesus?
