WBank protesters torch tyres in anti-US demonstrations

(8 Dec 2017) Palestinians protested in the West Bank on Friday against President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Demonstrators torched heaps of tires, sending columns of thick black smoke rising at Hawara checkpoint. Palestinian stone-throwers traded volleys in the streets with soldiers firing tear gas and rubber bullets. Palestinian medics say dozens of demonstrators were treated for tear gas inhalation and rubber bullet wounds sustained in clashes with Israeli security forces during protests in the West Bank.
