Did For(r)est Gump's mama say "Life was like a box of chocolates?" or "Life is like a box of chocolates." Nearly everyone remembers the latter, but the line from the movie has "was" in it. The Mandela Effect is when there is a difference between the memories of groups of people and recorded history for simple things like movie quotes and titles of books/movies or spellings of words. In this Mandela Effect the actual movie quote is "Life was like a box of chocolates" whereas most people remember the line as "Life is like a box of chocolates." Additionally, the transition from Forest Gump to Forrest Gump is mentioned. The Toto effect is when people remember more tangible things being different like History, Religion, Geography, and physical products very differently than recorded history.
