1977 Chicago Bears make the playoffs with time running out in overtime.

The Bears needed a victory in the season-finale at Giants Stadium to make the playoffs for the first time in 14 years. After a 3-5 start, the Bears ran the table with only seconds to spare. It was my first year as the analyst on the Bears radio broadcasts, and it proved to be my most memorable game. The field was covered by ice and slush. Unable to locate any radio or TV coverage of the game itself, other than the winning field goal and the interviews that followed. They include Bob Thomas, Walter Payton, Coach Jack Pardee, George Halas, and Red Grange.
