Super Mario Bros. DX (Episode 5) - Knuckles vs. Mecha Sonic Fight (Early Video Leak)

To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the unfortunate mess that was Super Mario Bros. DX Episode 5, here's the known leak depicting some of the Knuckles and Mecha Sonic fight. People who don't remember what this video was about, here's a rundown: Development on the infamous Knuckles vs. Mecha Sonic fight began around a month or two after Episode 4 was done. Bits and pieces of stolen assets from various sources were spread around the internet. Back in June of last year, someone named harry b. compiled clips of the fight and leaked them online. It wasn't long until an upset Smashinity took it down. Little did he know this resulted in a snowball effect with more YouTube users spreading the leaks around that never stopped until the episode's premiere. To make matters worse, his channel was hacked that same month, too, followed by Smashinity sending a death threat, which only rubbed more salt in the wound. Despite attempting to sweep what happened under the rug, the leaks proved a point, and the rest was history. Bits of the fight were early than what was expected, such as the final scene with Mecha Sonic performing the copied Kamehameha move from the sixth episode of SMBZ. There's also background music from Smasher's deleted livestreams on Twitch you may hear. That, as well as some copyright free music harry b. included past the 2-minute mark. The fight was the most well-known part of Episode 5, but it was at the cost of almost ruining the sprite community's reputation all because of Smashinity's ignorance to criticism.
