Yurok Song, a rising senior in high school and widely acclaimed cellist, explains the relationship between music and the physiological effects it has on the human body. The composition of sound, even in the most mundane of songs, can provide a world of insight into the function and behavior of our own brains. Yurok Song is currently a Junior attending Deerfield Academy. Although born in Seoul, South Korea, he moved at the age of 8 to Phoenix, Arizona, where he still lives. Yurok is passionate about math and science, and is especially interested in physics. In addition to his interest in science, he also plays the cello, an instrument he has been playing for over 7 years.
