What is Hyaluronic acid? Skincare ingredient

What is Hyaluronic acid? ⁃ Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance present in our bodies. ⁃ 50% of it is present in our skin. The remaining 50% is present in our joints as well as the eyes where it has a cushioning effect. ⁃ In the skin, it acts as a humectant which means it absorbs water and hydrates the skin, plumps up the skin. ⁃ One-fourth teaspoon of hyaluronic acid has the ability to absorb about half a gallon of water. ⁃ It also has the ability to stimulate the wound-healing response. ⁃ It is biostimulatory which means stimulates fibroblasts which are cells that help in the production of collagen. ⁃ Therefore, it improves skin resilience, radiance, pliability, hydration, fine lines, dilated pores and firms the skin as well. ⁃ It is available in the form of serums, lotions, creams as well as injectables like fillers and skin boosters. ⁃ Do not get scared by the word acid. It is not an exfoliant it is just a complex sugar, a glycosaminoglycan which is made by repeated sugars bond together. 💬Ask your queries in the comment Do 👍🏻Like and ↗️Share ➡️ For detailed videos on skincare and haircare visit our YouTube channel⤵️ Forever Youthful with Dr Jaishree Sharad . . . . . . #hyaluronicacid #skincareingredients #serum #skincare #cosmeticdermatologist #drjaishreesharad #dermatologist
