20 years ago, San Diego-based units were among first in Iraq

Twenty years ago Monday the U.S. and its allied forces launched a “shock and awe” invasion of Iraq. It led to more than 4,500 U.S. military deaths and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi deaths. As KPBS military reporter Andrew Dyer tells us, San Diego-based units led parts of the assault from the land and sea.
