Mesa Celestion Vintage 30 comparison. 2001 vs 2008 (same cab)

I had two identical cabs from 2008 and 2001 so I decided to make a close mic'd comparison (using a dry DI performance and a reamp box). No EQ or compression of any kind, not even a limiter for level or a hi pass filter. Let me know if you have any questions. Personally to me the 2001 cab sounds like a guitar, and the 2008 sounds like a guitar "and then some" LOL If anyone wants to get all weird and cry that they’re technically two different cabs: look at the two traces in Smaart during the video. The two cabs perform within 1dB of eachother from 20hz - 1khz. That’s because they’re the same box! They perform differently above 1khz, that’s because the speakers sound slightly different even tho they’re the same model. I was fully prepared to swap speakers into the same cab for this demo because originally I thought I was buying a Mesa standard cab but I arrived at the guys house and it was a traditional which made this a lot easier on me since I already had the same cab. Call Mesa yourself and ask if the traditional and stiletto cab are the same.
