Basically, the previous case, where nagito died. Kaede wasn’t the Actual culprit of that case. It was sayaka. She pinned the blame on kaede. It’s also revealed that in chapter 4, sayaka obviously faked her execution, but she herself genuinely didn’t know she was the culprit despite being the mastermind. (Now give me a 2nd while I paste the actual way it went down.) the real culprit of nagito komaeda’s death was sayaka maizono. Kaede got falsely executed, after the mastermind twisted the rules last moment. Nagito komaeda went to the room with the capsules of the bodies after he had that talk with Celeste that night. To look for more evidence, and to look through ALL of the capsules to make sure ALL of the dead bodies were in there. Once he checked sayakas, he realized her body wasn’t there. Immediately, he knew smth was up since sayaka should have been dead. Maizono, who saw this on the cameras, immediately rushed her way to the room, the fact that it was nighttime aswell, no one heard her. after reaching that room, both her and komaeda had a confrontation. She knew she had to get rid of him, since he found out her secret, and well, already knew too much about the fact kaede was the traitor. They had got into a fight, like, a actual physical one. Sayaka pushed him into a wall and knocked over one of the capsules onto him. The capsule she knocked over, was kyokos. (Which opened and caused her uh, dismembered body part to come rolling out.) At that point komaeda wasn’t dead, since the capsules weren’t too heavy, he had a bit of injuries from it but wasn’t dead. and of course, sayaka had to do something. She could not run out and try to get a weapon to actually kill him, as that’s a rly big risk and someone could’ve heard/seen her. So, what she did was use Nagitos own jacket to choke him to death. Then, she was able to put him into a chair, and put gasoline around the body and everywhere. To destroy any possible evidence. (Js to lyk, she had the gasoline bc there was gasoline in that room, but not weapons since no one was supposed to discover the room in the first place and they would’ve never thought you’d need weapons in there.) (She had hid komaeda’s jacket, to make sure they were not able to realize he was choked to death). the capsules containing the bodies of their deceased classmates were stacked on top of eachother into rows and columns. Sayakas was right above komaeda’s body. What she did was, get up Into the capsule where her supposedly dead body was supposed to be, she ended up having to wait until the others found the body. And lit it on fire using matches immediately after they discovered it. The way she got kaede to stay away from the group that was discovering the body was that sayaka told akamatsu to come meet her in the, ‘masterminds room’, the entire night before, as she was the traitor. After kaede did so, sayaka locked her into that place. The area the room was located, was where back in chapter 2, they found that sound proof room, (the one used for kirigiri’s murder) the masterminds room was there actually. There was a way to access it, hidden behind one of the shelves in the soundproof room. And of course, since that room was soundproof, no one could really hear kaede considering the fact the masterminds room was inside the soundproof room.
