Coronavirus update: The latest COVID-19 news for 22 May #covid19live #coronaviuslive #coronaviruslivemap This is an effort to provide live coronavirus related information regarding the Coronavirus pandemic and growing numbers worldwide. Join us in discussing the Coronavirus pandemic live realtime and how the worldwide figures compare and what can we do together to see through this. Coronavirus Live Streaming: Spike of Confirmed Cases and Deaths, Ratio of Death per Cases. On Jan 26th, the first live stream, "Coronavirus Pandemic: Real Time Counter, World Map, News" was started. I aimed to provide very basic information about current numbers of confirmed cases, deaths, recovered patients. Recently I felt this streaming couldn't reflect current situations because of some problems. Although there apparently exist some countries showing surge of case or death, current dashboard couldn't focus on those countries. And due to the discrepancy between official recovered patients and estimated numbers, old streaming (streaming based on active cases) was less meaningful. To tackle these problems, I selected 3 values from total cases and total death for last 5 days - Case Growth Rate (CGR), Death Growth Rate (DGR) and Deaths per Cases ratio(DPC). Announcing the number of recovered patients, performed tests and patients in ICU is not mandatory, there are many blanks in data. Thus I chose only case and death to show severity. To measure bursts of case and death, calculating slope of cumulative graph is a reasonable choice. When we comparing country's CGR to world average CGR, we can guess a current situation glimely. The reason of high DPC is various. A large cluster of elderly people like nursing home or population of underlying disease. If causes of high DPC are remained unsolved for a long time, CGR and DGR become smaller as if there is no bad situation. So I take DPC as a indicator of bad situation. I simply added all 3 values. When comparing to world average value, a higher Severity Index represents a worse situation. But the comparison between adjacent countries is impossible, because I didn't do statiscal analysis. It's impossible to say how much differences in severity index shows statiscally significance. There are still many obstacle in production and distribution of vaccine. Seeing optimistic results of vaccine trials, we can see exit of long tunnel faintly. Until we get vaccine, we must face cold winter season at least once. To protect neighbor's family and friends, I strongly recomment to use mask. I really hope everything would be returned as we lived before Pandemic. And I always appreciate to all moderators.
