Like our BC Freedom High School, which combined the Vichy regime and the Resistance movement, here on this channel I have managed to unite the stories of people whose ancestors were hostile parties during World War II. I never talked about the rest of my family. it is unacceptable to talk about it. You have already heard of the great-grandfather, a Ukrainian Soviet officer who escaped from a POW camp and joined the French resistance movement. Also I had soviet driver and pilot in my family. But I had another great-grandfather, who was an officer in the Austrian army during the existence of Austria-Hungary, and then, after the collapse of the empire, with military experience, he was in the army of the Western Ukrainian People's Republic, then - after Galicia went to Poland - in the Polish army. After retiring a few years later, Poland was divided between the USSR and the Third Reich, and he, as a former Austrian Volksdeutsche officer, helped germanian army, when Lviv and Ternopil were occupied by the Germans. And after the war he and his whole family were sent to Siberia... In my family history, it really happened as in the best traditions of the BC Freedom High School.))
