Creating a Mirth File Reader: Step 1: Open Mirth Connect Administrator: Launch the Mirth Connect Administrator by accessing it through your web browser. Typically, it can be accessed by entering the URL "http://localhost:8080" or the appropriate IP address and port number of your Mirth Connect server. Step 2: Navigate to Channels: In the Mirth Connect Administrator, click on the "Channels" tab located in the top navigation menu. Step 3: Create a New Channel: Click on the "Create New Channel" button to start creating a new channel. Step 4: Define Basic Channel Settings: Provide a name and a brief description for your channel. Select an appropriate "Channel Type" based on your requirements. Step 5: Add Source Connector: In the Source section of the channel, click on the "Add Connector" button. From the dropdown menu, select "File Reader" as the connector type. Step 6: Configure File Reader Settings: In the File Reader settings, specify the directory path where the source files are located. Set the file pattern or wildcard to filter the files you want to process. Specify the file encoding if needed. Step 7: Add Destination Connector: In the Destination section of the channel, click on the "Add Connector" button. From the dropdown menu, select the appropriate destination connector based on where you want to write the processed files. Creating a Mirth File Writer: Step 1: Follow steps 1 to 4 from the previous section to create a new channel and define basic channel settings. Step 2: Add Source Connector: In the Source section of the channel, click on the "Add Connector" button. From the dropdown menu, select the appropriate source connector based on where you are receiving the input data. Step 3: Add Destination Connector: In the Destination section of the channel, click on the "Add Connector" button. From the dropdown menu, select "File Writer" as the connector type. Step 4: Configure File Writer Settings: In the File Writer settings, specify the directory path where you want to write the processed files. Set the file naming pattern and choose the file encoding if necessary. Step 5: Save and Deploy the Channel: Once you have configured the File Reader and/or File Writer settings, click on the "Save" button to save your channel configuration. Then, click on the "Deploy Channel" button to deploy the channel and make it active. That's it! You have now created a Mirth File Reader and File Writer within a Mirth Connect channel. The File Reader will read files from a specified directory, and the File Writer will write processed files to a specified directory.
