Laswell tasks Alejandro to stop Hassan from crossing the border.Mission Briefing Borderline is the fifth mission featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The mission opens with a briefing from Kate Laswell to Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas. Laswell requests Vargas to stop Iranian terrorist Major Hassan Zyani from crossing the border with the help of the Las Almas Cartel. That night, Border Patrol responds to migrants trying to cross the border, but they're being used as a distraction by the Cartel. Meanwhile, Alejandro and his partner Sergeant Major Rodolfo (Rudy) Parra locate the Cartel's boat. They find the Cartel as they bring Hassan over the wall, and the chase begins. After reporting to Laswell that Hassan crossed, they chase him through a town on the other side, despite having no authority in the United States. They chase the Cartel through multiple townhouses before reaching a local PD blockade in front of the Cartel safe house. They're interrupted by an incoming explosive, which forces them to open fire on the Cartel. After clearing the Cartel outside the house, Rodolfo moves inside while Alejandro guards the outside. After encountering minimal resistance on the first deck, he moves to the second, believed to have Hassan cornered. He's ambushed by Cartel soldiers who injure him and light the house on fire on the orders of Hassan, who engages in a short conversation with Rudy before lighting the home. Despite Rudy's wishes to leave him and chase Hassan, Alejandro rescues him as the camera fades to black.
