Subtitles: Italiano — English. The Greene Murder Case. A Philo Vance mystery. Italian TV version: "La Fine dei Greene". In two parts. A quite faithful version of S.S. Van Dine's classical novel. The crimes and ending have been changed somewhat, but this version is still much more faithful to the novel than the American film version of 1929. Apparently no filmmaker has thought that the original ending could be filmed realistically. Italian TV produced versions of 3 Philo Vance novels: The Canary Murder Case (La Canarina Assassinata), The Greene Murder Case (La Fine dei Greene), The Benson Murder Case (La Strana Morte del Signor Benson). NOTES: Some transcriptions defeated me. The plot is not compromised, but this bothers me anyhow. If you can help, many thanks! The speed of the dialogs is astonishingly high to my taste. I would suggest to play this video at 0,75 of normal speed.
