Hey Guys, Kakora is a spine gourd . It is also called as kantola, kakrol , kankoda, Phagla and phagil in different parts of India. These green gourds with tiny spines appear during the Indian monsoons. They have slightly a bitter taste but not like bitter gourd. When cooked , they have a nice texture. Its a very healthy vegetable as it possess very good nutritive and medicinal properties. It is rich in fibre and vitamins and is cooling to the body,good for cough,fever,controls the sugar level,increase the appetite and good for kidneys ,so its a very good vegetable to have during summers and monsoon.
