Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (1st Solo) | One Take Guitar Solo Cover

My one-take, unedited cover of David Gilmour's iconic first solo from "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd. “Comfortably Numb” is one of Pink Floyd’s most iconic songs, and this first guitar solo is a perfect example of David Gilmour’s unmatched sense of melody and emotion. I first heard this solo when I was a student, and I was completely blown away by the note choices and the feeling in his playing. That opening phrase is so distinctive that you can tell it’s Gilmour after just one or two notes. In this performance, I’ve tried to stay close to the original while focusing on the sustain, bends, and vibrato that make this solo so timeless. It’s all about touch and restraint, and recording it was a real pleasure. 🎸 This video is part of an ongoing series on my channel where I perform some of my favorite guitar solos across different genres, with an emphasis on musicality, phrasing, and tone.
