Political Violence: Police Cautions Political Parties Against Criminal Activities

The Nigerian Police has urged politicians in Lagos and Ogun States to maintain a peaceful atmosphere while carrying out their political activities. The police read a Riot Act to the representatives of all political parties present, some of which are centred on the need to avoid making provocative statements that could heighten tensions in their respective constituencies, use of thugs, importation of fire arms, stuffing ballot boxes and snatching them among others.
