I know it's not the most conventional thing in the world to write a soundtrack for a book you are writing. Especially when that will most likely never be seen by the public. But I don't care. I wanted to write some Godzilla inspired music. This song is inspired by Akira Ifukube’s Original “Stormy Ootojima Island” or “Storm On Odo Island” from the 1954 classic Gojira. The song is also inspired by “Godzilla’s Rampage,” although it never actually plays during this. The last part of the song you may recognize is the portion that follows Ifukube’s original intro. This was lifted from my previous “Ghidorah” custom theme written for Godzilla: King Of The Monsters. Also, as you may be able to tell. This book isn't very light-hearted considering the saddest song on the original soundtrack serves as the title for my story. My take on Godzilla isn't a very happy one. For those curious: The scene in the book this would go with occurs after chapter 14 as our main characters sleep in a hotel on Odo Island. A typhoon hits the island, waking a child. The boy walks to the window and notices something massive moving towards the island from the distant ocean. During the hotel's evacuation, a fateful decision is made that changes the lives of all involved.
