Assemblymember Skinner Authors Gun Violence TRO Legislation

(Sacramento) - California State Assemblymember Nancy Skinner (D-Berkeley) has introduced legislation (Assembly Bill 1014) to help prevent mass killings like the tragic Isla Vista rampage near UC Santa Barbara that claimed the lives of six students. The proposed legislation would create a gun violence restraining order, establishing a system where concerned family members, intimate partners or friends can notify law enforcement of someone who is demonstrating a propensity to commit violence toward themselves or others. NBC Nightly News correspondant Mike Taibbi takes a look at the legislation. You can watch his report in this Assembly Assets video. http://www.asmdc.org/skinner
