Box 3457 was transmitted for a building fire in the area of Irving and East Highland Streets sending Engines 13, 6, 9, 14, Truck 2 and Battalion 43. The comm center was receiving multiple calls. Engine 13 arrived in the area and reported heavy smoke and was investigating. The found heavy smoke from the roof of 913 E. Highland Street. Battalion 43 arrived and signaled a working fire. As crews started forcing entry and gaining access, they weren't finding any fire but could hear and feel it. Finally, when truck 2 forced entry to a garage door, they found heavy fire right inside the door. Battalion 43 struck out the 2nd alarm sending in Engines 4, 10 and Truck 1.
