You can prevent your iPhone, iPad, and Mac from sharing data by adjusting iCloud and device-specific sync settings on each device. Step 1 — Manage iCloud Settings On iPhone or iPad: Open Settings, tap your Apple ID at the top. Select iCloud. Toggle off the apps or services you do not want to share between devices, such as Contacts, Calendars, Messages, Photos, or iCloud Drive. On Mac: Go to System Settings (or System Preferences), click Apple ID, then select iCloud. Uncheck services that you want to keep separate, like Photos, Keychain, Safari, Messages, or iCloud Drive. Step 2 — Disable Handoff and Continuity Handoff allows actions to continue across Apple devices. On iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings General AirPlay & Handoff. Toggle off Handoff. On Mac: Go to System Settings General AirDrop & Handoff or System Preferences General. Uncheck Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices. Step 3 — Adjust Messages and FaceTime If you want to stop syncing messages: On iPhone or iPad: Settings Messages Send & Receive. Deselect your Apple ID email to prevent syncing. Additionally, toggle iMessage off if needed for full separation. On Mac: Open Messages Preferences iMessage. Sign out of your Apple ID or deselect your phone number and email addresses.
