Gandalf - 26.12.2013 Club PRKL, Helsinki, Finland (1st show in over 12 years)

Under the moniker "SARUMAN plays GANDALF", Finnish melodic death metal band GANDALF got together for the first time in over 12 years to celebrate singer Jari Hurskainen's 40th birthday at Club PRKL in Helsinki, Finland, on thursday 26th of December 2013. Last time GANDALF played live was at Tuska-Festival in Helsinki, Finland on Saturday 12th of July 2001. The band disbanded shortly thereafter due to inner conflicts within the band. No plans have been made for any other shows by GANDALF in near future. However, a tribute website for the band has been made recently and can be found here: http://thescourger.net/gandalf The line-up of GANDALF was - with the exception of Timo Ahlström - the same as the one which released the debut album "Deadly Fairytales" in 1998 on Wicked World -label (subsidiary of Earache Records). The 2nd album by GANDALF, "Rock Hell" was released in 2001. GANDALF performed at Club PRKL with the following line-up: Jari Hurskainen - lead vocals (also THE SCOURGER) Timo Nyberg - lead guitar (also THE SCOURGER, DIVINE DECAY) Timo Ahlström - lead guitar (also FREEDOMINATION, HORRORFEAST, KILJUVELKA -70) Kirka Sainio - bass (also AIRDASH) Nalle Österman - drums (also CHAOSBREED, SONIC ROOTS) Also noteworthy is that Timo Ahlström is known to be the "local guitar hero", who guitar maestro Jeff Waters handed over guitar duties for the song "King of the Kill", when ANNIHILATOR performed in Tampere, Finland on 5th of November 2013, you can watch that clip here:    • Annihilator feat. Timo - King Of The Kill ...   GANDALF performed the following songs at Club PRKL on 26th of December 2013: 1. End Of Time 2. Marionette 3. Carry The Torch 4. Eternal Fire 5. One More For The Dead 6. Morning Sun 7. Nightderanger 8. The Cradle - - 9. Hell's Bells
