A few years ago, I was on the National Geographic show with Jason SIlva, 'Brain Games'. Brain Games is such a fun show and it was an honor to be on there. The show is all about exercising your brain and boosting your brain power. It educates you on the power of the brain but also gives you brain games and brain challenges to try out for yourself. Although my part of the show was only memory training exercises I did enjoy watching for the other brain games that they shared. In this video, there are 6 of my favorite brain exercises for you to try. Most of these require your brain to focus on two different things at one time, while in life multitasking it not something that is productive and rather extreme focus on one task is what we should have of our brain. With that said, these brain games are fun and challenging. I have found that even if you are not good at one of them and they really trick your brain with practice you can get good at any of them. These brain games are in the same type you might find on 7-second riddles, another youtube channel or even on the National Geographic Show Brain Games. The exercise in this video that I am the best at is the thumb up / pinky out switch and fingers in opposite directions. The game that is the hardest for me is to write letters or shapes with different hands. This was so impossible for me! You can see in the video when I am writing the letters and the circle and square it is far from perfect. However, this is not about being perfect. It is about exercising your brain with brain games. We can't let our brains get old and stale. Brain exercises along with good nutrition and exercise are key to maintaining a healthy and fresh mind as your age. As a 2 Time USA Memory Champion one of the things that I am concerned about is my memory power. To keep my memory power strong I work on memory training skills such as the method or loci or memory palace technique as seen here • How to Memorize Fast and Easily // Mind Pa... But something that is easy to do when you are waiting in line, on an airplane or just alone at home are some of these brain riddles or brain games. I hope you practice them because the more practice you get the faster and better you will get. My challenge to you is that once you have mastered one you move on to the next. Your brain will see the most growth when it is doing something new. When it has mastered a task the growth will be less but you should still work at it to keep the skill fresh. But remember to continue to challenge your brain with new brain games and don't just do the same exercises over and over after you master them. Keeping your brain guessing and challenging it is the key!
