Ain't No Baby - UFO - Drum Cover by Keith B.

This is one of the songs for which I’ve always really liked the drum part, but never thought of covering it… until now. It shows off Andy Parker at his very best, with a great syncopated feel to his beat, very cool kick that is busy yet tasteful, and fills that are both nicely phrased and really impactful. Can’t ask for much more. I was reminded of the song listening to the new special edition “Strangers in the Night” CD, where it appears in one or two of the six full concert CDs included in the package as supplements. The song originally appeared on the 1978 studio album “Obsession”, the band’s fifth and final album with Michael Schenker in his original run with the band. The album charted at #41 in the US, and this song was one of the deeper cuts. It was co-written by singer Phil Mogg and guitarist/keyboardist Paul Raymond. Fun tune that was a bit trickier than I expected.
