Can I Decline A Job Offer That I Have Accepted?

My question today is can you back out of a job offer once you have accepted it? This has always been a concern for job seekers interviewing with multiple companies. Sometimes the first organization to make the offer is not the preferred place to work; even if it is, you get another offer for more money or better benefits that make it enticing. Or you are having second thoughts about the organization based upon additional information you find out or even how you are treated after saying yes.
