Saline Valley - Remote Desert Overland Adventure!

This adventure starts at the Box Car Cabin (Part of the BLM's Adopt-a-cabin program from the 1990's) in the Santa Rosa Hills. We head north on the Saline Valley Road into Death Valley through Lee Flat and the Nelson Range. We enter the Saline through South Pass and stop at the Salt Lake where the Saline Valley Salt Tram was used to harvest Salt. Along the way we see old mining activity, an active cattle operation, and an abandon car. We get buzzed by some of America's finest Fighter pilots and soak is some awesome hot springs. The Saline Valley is extremely remote so make sure you are prepared for extended desert travel and have a well equipped 4 wheel drive vehicle. I believe in preserving access to OUR national Parks and public lands not restricting them as everyone should have an opportunity to enjoy them. With that said, I never share coordinates of where I visit or give specific directions to them as finding them is part of the adventure!
