Joint Hearing: Perspectives on Climate Change

Date: Wednesday, March 21, 2007 - 10:00 a.m. Location: 2318 Rayburn House Office Building Subcommittee on Energy and Environment (of the Committee on Science and Technology) Joint Hearing with the Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality (of the Committee on Energy and Commerce): Perspectives on Climate Change Witnesses: Former Vice President Albert Gore Mr. Gore was awarded an Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his 2006 documentary film ``An Inconvenient Truth.'' He has been very involved in the issue of global warming since the 1970s and 1980s when he served as a Member of the House of Representatives (1977-1985) in the Committee on Science and Technology and then as U.S. Senator (1985-1993) for the State of Tennessee. He participated in the first Congressional hearings on the issue of global warming while he served on the Committee on Science and Technology. He also authored the Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit in 1992 Dr. Bjorn Lomberg, Director for the Copenhagen Consensus Center and an adjunct professor at the Copenhagen Business School. Dr. Lomborg is the author of the book The Skeptical Environmentalist published in 2001 110th Congress
